Your first presentation
Go from a blank canvas to a short presentation in six steps.
5 min read1Start a new canvas
Open the app and create a new document with Ctrl/⌘+N. Start with a simple topic: a plan, a lesson, or three things you want to explain.
2Put an idea on the canvas
Press T and click to add text. Press R and drag to draw a rectangle. Paste a copied image with Ctrl/⌘+V. Move things around until the layout feels right.
3Make three frames
Press F and drag around your first idea to create a frame. Repeat for two more ideas. Give each frame a useful name in the frame list.
4Choose the order
Drag the frame rows in the frame list to rearrange the sequence. Try a wide overview first, then move closer to the details.
5Follow your story
Start the slideshow with Ctrl/⌘+Enter. Use → / Space for the next frame and ← for the previous one. Press Esc to return to editing.
6Save your first presentation
Use Ctrl/⌘+S to save an editable .canvaslide document. Choose a name and a folder you can find again. Save regularly as you work.
