Use T for text, R for a rectangle, O for an ellipse, and D for a diamond. Draw a triangle with the Triangle tool in the toolbar. Double-click text to edit it. Copy an image and paste it with Ctrl/⌘+V. Use the properties panel to adjust fill, borders, and text styling.
Select and arrange
Press V for the selection tool. Drag on empty space to select several elements, or hold Shift to add to a selection. Move and resize with the handles, and drag the round handle above a selection to rotate it; hold Shift to turn in 15° steps. The alignment controls help line up elements and distribute them evenly.
Make a connection
Press L for the connector tool. Drag between shapes to connect them. Attach an end to a side port or to the shape itself; the line follows when the shape moves. Choose straight, elbow, or curved lines in the properties panel, and pick the start and end shapes separately, such as an arrow, a circle, or none.
Try things freely
Duplicate selected elements with Ctrl/⌘+D. Copy and paste them between documents with Ctrl/⌘+C and Ctrl/⌘+V. Undo with Ctrl/⌘+Z when you want to take a step back.
